...and some goodies, at last!
Thanks for the lovely soul who uploaded these wonderful clips!
Here comes Paolo, in his glamour as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni!
He sings wonderfully in this one, which is a solo scene for Don Ottavio.
No idea at all what he's singing, but it's a treat to listen to his wonderful voice goes so strong with emotion and then goes so soft.
This is the scene where the heroine's father is killed. The singing is more on the soprano's part, and due to the limitations of a compressed video clip, Paolo's voice is sometimes covered by the soprano. But I'm not complaining. ;)

Now there are a couple of things I have missed before:
When asked if he can cook, Paolo said, "I always cook for my family."
Awwww, this boy is so sweet. Can I safely assume that my guess of him being the eldest son should be correct?
And, when Paolo was having a hard time figuring out who his favourite American singers are, Gio offered to help (yet again) and mentioned Maroon 5. Paolo answered "No no no", and finally remembered that he likes Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin and another female singer whose name I still can't make out.
I didn't catch the Maroon 5 before. So I was wondering if he only likes jazz and oldies apart from classical music. But if he listens to Maroon 5 (I'm going to believe everything Gio says about Paolo, you know :P) - even though it's not his favourite - it means he has a broader taste for music than I had imagined. :)
Oh, and I love his speaking voice. His singing voice is powerful, but when he speaks his voice is so soft and boyish. *sighs and hearts*

Sorry Paolo, but you are trying too hard.
I guess this pic is the so-called promotional photo taken as requested by his agent. How old was he? Definitely no more than 23, probably 22 - he was 24 when he did the Andiamo DVD interview, and it would have taken at least a year for him to grow his hair out if his hair had been so short.
Wonder who fixed his hair. Whoever it was, he/she must have put a whole pot of hair wax on his head. But okay, I can let it pass. What I can't get over is his pose - what 's with THAT pose, Poalo? It's not the 60s for god's sake, and it's not flattering to try to look like James Dean! *headdesk* Someone should have given some advice to the poor boy on how to pose...and his smile is stiff. He was like an awkard boy who hasn't quite get rid of the teenage awkwardness but is keen to look cool, and, of course, fails miserably. LOL
I'm never a big fan of the Andiamo CD/DVD cover, IMO it's too casual, ambiguous, and simply not right for a classical crossover album. But I like how Paolo looks: he's at ease, his smile is natural and bright, and I love his outfit and his cute ponytail. :D

Awww, isn't it cute the way Paolo clinging onto Gio like a little boy?
Can you imagine Gio's 13 years older than Paolo? He certainly has a way to look at least 6 years younger than he is.
Btw, I don't think I've ever seen a guy holding the other guy's arm like that. *hahahaha*

The page is right-click locked, so I can't use the online translator, but fortunately it's easy to make out what they say about Paolo (only one sentence, at any rate):
Original:
...al tenore Paolo Fanale acclamato con una standing ovation
So he gained a standing ovation! *is proud* But the photo gallery, the section he's supposed to be in - Gallery Ospiti - it says "in arrivo". :(

Awww. I really, really want to see him do opera. That's saying something, given that I have never watched any opera before, have never thought I'd like it, and know nothing about it.
